We made an 8 bit game on the game engine 'Bitsy Engine' . We were set a category and scene by Tom. The scene was "You're sent to an alien planet and have to retrieve a key/relic which will affect the game. Personally i used the "Flower of humanity" which has a vast effect on how the game works whether you collect it or not.

I had 1 issue during making the game. The issue was that you cant add different dialog on the same scene so the room where you return to printer cat you were meant to return to the 1st scene but i was unable to do different dialog for printer cat. I fixed it by making a whole new room and new dialog.

My games story-line is that you leave your house and see a cat. You go over to stroke the cat but it starts talking to you about a flower of humanity that you need to collect from an alien planet.

You enter a portal that the cat directed you to and you land in a maze on a different planet (scene) (Shown in picture 2). You have to fight your way through the maze avoiding the aliens that WILL KILL YOU. At the end of the maze there is the flower of humanity that you pick up. Once the flower is picked up you get some dialog (Shown below)

that tells you to enter the portal to return the flower to printer cat.

You have entered the 3rd scene and return to printer cat that tells you that you have saved humanity although afterwards she contradicts herself by saying "Or have you hehehe" which shows that printer cat might not be as good as you think.

Once going through the invisible portal shown by printer cat at the end of the dialog you go to the prize room where you are met with a MASSIVE well done and chest. You open the chest and claim your reward. Once your reward is claimed you jump to 'end game' although that doesn't happen quite yet.

You're in the final room which is your bedroom. You hop out of bed to see bongs on the floor and your friend poking you to wake you up. After some dialog you find out that it was all just a drugged up dream

Dialog list,

Printer cat: {wvy}Hi I am printer cat.

You must enter this portal to another planet and retrieve the flower of life then you must bring it to me!

Beware of the aliens, if you touch them you will DIE!

{shk}QUICK! Go back and collect the flower before its too late!!

{rbw}Well done!! You saved the human race!

Or have you hehehe...

Now go into the invisible portal behind me to clam your prize!

Flower: {rbw}You found the flower of humanity!!

Now return home to printer cat.

Alien: {shk}YOU WILL PERISH!!

but not right now its lunch break...
